Cape point is the south western tip of Africa and is part of the Cape Peninsula. Its the
southernmost tip of the range of mountains of which Table Mountain is a
part of. The national park is wild, unspoilt and an important haven of a
variety of birds.
At Cape Point, there is a lighthouse which
can be reached by the use of a funicular and steps which has at its
start some restaurants and car parking.
Contrary to popular
belief, Cape Point is not where the Indian ocean and the Atlantic oceans
meet. Its actually further South East at Cape Agulhas where the oceans
meet to create the micro climate of Cape Town.
Cape Point lies within the Cape Point Nature Reserve. Be on the look-out for baboons en-route and remember not to feed them.
