All Stars Comedy Club offers professional stand-up comedians Tuesday through Sunday night. The shows are the best in town. It is conventiently located only 3 blocks from the Court House Metro or if you prefer to drive there is FREE parking behind the building. All Stars is co-located with Listrani's of Arlington at 2317 Wilson Boulevard. If you're in the mood for dancing, head to the Clarendon Ballroom, a classy joint with a large dance floor and lengthy bar. Tuesday nights are given over to swing dancing, with lessons beforehand. Saturdays and Wednesdays are reserved for special events, but Thursdays and Fridays, the ballroom turns into a dance club where revelers are regaled by a live band or DJs. Also check out the rooftop patio with its own bar and food service, open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
The Clarendon Ballroom is really an offshoot of the Clarendon Grill, which is a more casual hang-out scene. There is live music some nights, which ranges from 80s tribute bands to DJs. Outside there is a patio with a bar where you can also play tetherball.
Ri Ra Irish Pub in Clarendon hosts a free standup comedy night every Wednesday at 8pm. After the show they invite the audience members to come up on stage and try to tell the funniest joke to win $25 cash. Wednesdays at Ri Ra are also 1/2 price burger night so it's a great cheap date idea
