Metro RTA is Summit County's public transportation system consisting of a series of bus routes that blanket the area. For Schedules, go to the web site and click on the route number. There is also a trip planner that will tell you which route you need if you provide it with an origin and a destination.
There are a number of different fare options. The normal adult fare is $1.25 for one-way service. Older adults and persons with disabilities receive a reduced fare of $.50. One day passes are $3 for adults and $2 for older adults and persons with disabilities. The bus to Cleveland costs $4. Monthly passes are available for $50 or $30 reduced fare.
The street numbering system in Akron can be confusing for visitors, as there are at least two different number systems in effect in different parts of the town. If you plan on doing a lot of driving in Akron, it is advisable to pick up a street map so you don't get lost.
