Many holidays are a great time to visit Colombia, but on some Holidays, including New Years Eve and New Years Day, almost everything is closed, unlike many other countries.

Granada Street Festival
Granada is the neighborhood where 6th Avenue and the Entertainment District is located. The street festival is one to two blocks away. The streets are blocked off and many tents with booths are set up. There is a fashion show, bands, gourmet food, fine imported wine, liquor, and cheeses.

June:
6~9: Colombian Andean Music Festival
Ginebra Valle, 59 Km from Cali. Attended by the most famous musicians throughout the country. Traditional Sancocho de Gallina (Chicken Soup).

August:
FestiBuga 74 Km from Cali. Home of International Music Festival.

December
25 ~ 30  Feria de Cali
25 Cabalgata (Parade of Horses & many other events)
26 Antique Car Parade
All December & 1st week of January ~ A MUST SEE! Unique Cali Christmas Lights display over Cali River, about 2 miles long. You can leisurely walk or drive the entire distance.

THINGS TO DO & PLACES TO VISIT YEAR ROUND

Lake Calima
101 Km from Cali. The principal attraction is the lake. Lake Calima is a man-made lake with a hydroelectric power plant. Because of the strong winds in the area, the lake has become an ideal place to practice nautical sports, especially wind surfing. Lake Calima area has the strongest winds in the Americas, and the second strongest worldwide. There are nice Cali restaurants with lake views.

Horseback riding at Presebra Los Girasoles located near Pance area about 45 minutes from Cali Plaza. Highly recommended by hotel guests that have been there. Ride through the forests and rivers. Picnic or swim along the way.

Must See:
La Ermita Gothic-style church, the Jorge Isaacs Theatre, the Church of San Francisco and La Merced Church where the first Catholic mass was held.

Must Visit:
Visit the Gold Museum and delight with the collection of gold works of art produced by the Calima Indians, See the San Antonio Neighborhood. La Tertulia Museum of Modern Art Exhibits paintings, sculptures and photographs. Enjoy the Animals at Cali Zoo. This is a great Zoo!

Shopping:
The city's two most important shopping centers, Chipichape in the north of the city and Unicentro in the south, both house new Multiplex movie theaters. There are also two new shopping centers, Jardin Plaza and Palmetto.

Visiting Cali Sixth Avenue, it is the main tourist and entertainment attraction in Cali.
