For special occasions there are many fine dining establishments that offer fusion, Italian, seafood, and native treats. All accept reservations and you should call ahead, even before you arrive on-island to make that special occasion table yours.

In town, 21 Federal is a townhouse with a clubby bar area that serves wonderful martinis and excellent meats, seafood and house specialities. Straight Wharf has a barn-like look with a stunning patio that serves seasonal seafood and specials – the bar area is generally packed with college kids and long neck beers, but the restaurant is behind it. On Main Street, The Club Car’s bar is situated in a vintage railroad car with a sing-along pianist. The adjacent dining room is luxurious with steaks, lobster and fine wines. American Seasons restaurant has a variety of choices between meat and fish, too.

The Summer House in Sconset is more traditional fare, Brahmin jacket style. Something different is the Company of the Cauldron where they offer one menu each night at a choice of early or late seating for everyone – you can check their daily offerings on the board outside.Whether you have gourmet pizza or a fancy scallop and lobster stew, you will have many choices to make your meal a special occasion.
