Nuuk is a great place to shop for traditional Inuit handicrafts like tupilaks, jewellery, garments and decorative items all made in traditional Greenlandic style using traditional materials. These are items that you cannot find anywhere else in the world.

*Note: Many souvenirs require a CITES export permit. This is a guarantee that the product does not come from an endangered species. CITES stands for Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of wild flora and fauna.

In summer 2012 the new 'Nuuk Center' opened, which is Greenland's only shopping mall. Here you can find the types of shops that you would expect to find in a medium sized shopping mall, including two cafées and a restaurant.
