Suva has been a hive of activity recently with a lot of events scheduled which could benefit tourists and locals alike.  Recently, we had the World Music Festival Fiji, the first of its kind in Fiji which will now be a likely recurring feature on Suva's calendar.  We have also had the South Pacific Bowling Carnival, which is still on and a number of other activities including an Art Competition and Exhibition organised by the Fiji Arts Club.  The competition is currently on with the exhibition to take place in late July.  In August, we welcome back the Hibiscus Festival, the first beauty and charity contest established in Fiji in 1956.  October sees the hosting of the Melanesian Festival of Arts in Suva with cultural and art displays by member countries of the Melanesian group which include Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and Fiji.  Read more about Upcoming Activities in Suva on my blog,  Gilbert Veisamasama, Jr
