One of the first things every first time visitor to Hong Kong should do is ride the famous Star Ferry, which has plied the waters of Victoria Harbour, linking the Kowloon Peninsula with Hong Kong Island for over a century.  Service frequency is every few minutes and there are lots of ferries, all in the same legendary green and white livery named as Stars -  Morning Star, Evening Star, Twinkling Star etc.

The real feel of this world class city is to sit with the local Hong Kongers at night for the ten minute trip across this bustling harbour surrounded by the brilliantly lit skyscrapers.  It is a beautiful sight, looking both directions at these impressive skylines.

Go Second Class downstairs for a few cents and you are first on and first off.  The departure point on the Kowloon side are at the Star Ferry Pier just off the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade in Kowloon near the Ocean Terminal and Star House.  While departures occur at the Central Pier on Hong Kong Island.  The main service links Kowloon and Central, and a second service links Kowloon and Wanchai (also on HK Island).
