For those of you traveling with kids in Jerusalem in the summer the first thing you will notice is the heat. Jerusalemites are often asked how they manage the heat in the summer. The answer is that locals spend the summer in the pool. There are a variety of pools around town that you can enter on a one time basis and there are pools that have summer memberships.
The most luxurious pools wont be advertised because they belong to the hotels. The Citadel, King David, Har Zion and Inbal have the nicest hotel pools around but for the cost of a one time entrance its worth sleeping over.
Jerusalem has a variety of public pools, some of which are outside and some are inside. Most pools offer swimming lessons and have locker rooms available. The local pick for the best pools with a view are Ramat Rachel and the Jerusalem Forest Pool. There are also some pools just outside Jerusalem in Shoresh (*great kiddie pool), Kiryat Anavim, and Tekoa that offer large grounds and a relaxed environment.Jerusalem is a great place to visit with kids. There are so many events and activities going on. It's worth renting an apartment and staying for the summer.
