El Capitan State Beach is part of the California State park system and is located near Santa Barbara.
There are several very scenic ocean view sites in this campground, numbers 31-34, 36, and 79-81. Campsite #84, a large campsite, is considered one of the most scenic anywhere in the state. Attached are a couple of photos to give you an idea. The spaces with better views tend to get a bit more wind than those farther back.
The park is well patrolled, cleaned several times a day, and most of the bathroom/shower facilities have been re-modeled. Because there is no development near the park, the beach is almost pristine, and if you move away from the camp ground, it can be virtually empty.
