Recently opened memorial to Janis (Zhan) Lipke who saved more than 50 Jews during the Nazi occupation of Riga.

The memorial consists of an interestingly designed building, constructed between 2006-2012. It was opened by Shimon Peres.

Entrance is free, as is the guided tour (about half an hour). It's open afternoons from 12:00 to 16:00 and is not very easy to find. Walk north from the Krisjana Valdemara Iela bridge on the west side of the river, passing the restored wooden houses. There is a small sign to the memorial.
