Rakvere is known for its interesting (cultural) character. It is where the first Estonian Punk Song Festival and Estonian Men’s Dance Festival took place. It also hosts the biannual international theatre festival called Baltoscandal.

It’s the fifth largest city in Estonia and with probably the most modern town square in Estonia.

Rakvere can be easily be reached by bus and car (just over 1 hour from Tallinn) but also by railway (from Tallinn, Narva and St. Petersburg in Russia).
