Haruru Falls is a concave waterfall up the Waitangi River. The name "Haruru" means loud or thundering noise. It is one of New Zealand's oldest river ports. Tall ships used to sail right up to the falls to trade with the local Maoris. It is accessable along the "Haruru Falls Track" or by boat.
