The City Link bus service circles the inner city section of Auckland. It operates from the newly developed Wynyard Quarter, along Queen St, up to K-Rd and then back down Queen Street. All the CityLink buses are bright red. The fare is $1, cheaper with an AT HOP card. It is free if transferring to or from another bus or train with an AT HOP card.
Monday to Saturday: every 7 to 8 mins, 6.25am to 11.25pm. Sunday and Public Holidays every 10 mins 7am to 11.20pm
The stops are: Wynyard Quarter, Britomart (Connect to Inner Link Route with its green buses), Queen St (Connect to Inner Link), Town Hall, Myers Park, Karangahape Rd (Connect to Inner Link), Pitt St, and then back past Town Hall, Queen St, Britomart to Wynyard Quarter.
The Inner Link buses are bright green and the Outer Link buses are amber in color. On both inner and outer links, the routes are continuous loops and the buses run in both directions. The museum is on the green inner loop and is the 3rd stop after Britomart when traveling clockwise; it is the 3rd stop after Karangahape Rd when traveling counterclockwise.
One other option for visitors who are interested in getting around is the Auckland Explorer Bus, an on/off bus where passengers can get unlimited rides anywhere in the city the bus travels (the major tourist attractions).

On trains, you can pay cash or use an AT HOP card. If paying cash, you must buy your ticket before boarding the train. Ticket machines are at all stations.
The Western Spring Tramway operates 7 days a week except on Xmas Day and during the Pasifika Festival in March. The tram runs to MOTAT, the Museum of Transport and Technology. Tram stops are at MOTAT's Great North Road Entrance, Motions Road Corner, Auckland Zoo and MOTAT's Meola Road site. A request stop is also midway along the Western Springs Park edge on Great North Road and outside The Auckland Performing Arts Centre (TAPAC). MOTAT admission includes a return tram ride.
