St Mary's Catholic Cathedral in Hobart was built in 1866, but has had a chequered history as a building. The original building work was done very poorly and extensive repairs ave been required over the years. Nevertheless it is a fine example of a Gothic Revival church whose full Gothic
flowering is not attained due to the absence of the intended tower.
