You mostly come to the Great Barrier Reef to snorkel, dive, hang in the water and relax. This isn’t Paris, where a focus of your trip might be shopping. But if you need or want to do a little shopping, there are a few options available here.
The most populous area of the Great Barrier Reef islands is Hamilton Island, so you should head there for your shopping needs. You can choose from a variety of shops, including many that will help outfit you for your beach and water needs.
In the island’s Marina Village, you can purchase beach wear, but also souvenirs, gifts, resort wear, children’s clothes and little gift items.
Otherwise, there aren’t too many shopping options available here, especially if your tastes run less to beach and resort wear and more to high-end stores or art. These items are best found on the mainland and in larger cities.
