Farson's Beer Festival Ta'Qali, Malta

Usually takes place the last week in July and first week of August.  It is easy to get transport. Take the X3 from Bugibba and you get off at the American Embassy. Ta' Qali and make your way to the National Park which is literally just round the corner from the bus stop, follow the crowds. You then catch the return bus from the Embassy but beware the bus operators state that the last bus back is 12.00 midnight but one night when about 20 people went  for the bus at that time it never turned up and had to arrange a taxi to get back. (you can flag a taxi down outside the Embassy)

The festival is free, there are two stages one playing pop music the other playing rock. Several different bands play each stage every night. There are loads of bars selling beers and ciders from all round the world.  There are loads of food stalls and even a Hard Rock Cafe. There are lots of thngs for younger children to do, train rides, childrens theatre, sweet and icecream stalls, popcorn, balloons.  There are also stalls selling jewellery, candles and various other things. There are places to sit and listen to the music and drink or eat you food and plenty of toilets!  It has a safe, friendly atmosphere and is a really good night out.  The drink prices are a little more than you would pay in resort bar but if you are lucky enough to encounter an attractive young lady giving out vouchers there are some good deals such as buy two get one free offers.

You do have to make some enquiries to find out exactly when this festival is taking place it is not very well advertised although it is a large and popular event mainly attended by the locals, you wont find organised tours to this event you have to make your own way there but it is well worth the effort.
