Chiesa Santo Stefano is a charming little 12/13th century church off the main roads in the centre of Assisi.
From the Piazza d. Commune go a little way towards the Basilica San Francesco and go up steps to it. It lies between the Via Fortini and the Via San Paolo.
According to tradition, the bells of Santo Stefano rang spontaneously during St Francis' agony and death. (Wikipedia)
A lovely quiet spot to pray and just be.
