Small museum with paid entry (2 Euros) set in a 19th century mansion on Avenue September 20th just a couple of hundred feet from Piazza Sulis and the sea front promenade on the south side of the old walled part of Alghero. The coral museum tells the history and significance of the ancient practice of harvesting the red coral for which Alghero is reknowned. The are old photos of the equipment and boats used in the harvest, some examples of objects made from the coral, and some videos with narrations in English and Italian. Definitely worth a visit to better understand the ancient and important tradition of coral jewelry in Sardinia.
