The Clipper Inn is not the place to go in your tux, but is a great place to eat an relax after a day exploring the Rock. The Clipper offers good typical pub food and drink at reasonable prices. Set in Irish Town just behind the main high street it is in a central location and easy to get to. Food is served all day and the service is always friendly and cheerful. The whole of the front of the pub is open so you can watch the people wander by and enjoy the breeze.
The Barbary Ape is located near the car park at the bottom of the cable car. It is a tiny pub distinguished by the monkey attached to its roof. It serves basic food and drink but is family run and ideally located to grab a snack before or after riding to the top of the rock or the Alemeda Gardens. The menu is small but the portions are generous and the atmosphere relaxed and the prices are very reasonable.
The Cannon Bar is in Cannon Lane by the bed and breakfast of a similar titles. Good general food menu with a cheerful atmoshpere and daily specials. In hotter months you can sit outside and eat and take in the atmosphere of the rock.

The Horseshoe Bar is open all day and located centrally on main street. Traditional pub far from breakfasts to burgers. Recommended by members as great just for the people watching!
The Office, located on the corner of Irish Town and Parliament Lane has just been taken over by Amin who many will know from his Cannon Bar days. He'll be serving up his usual excellent fare, tapas, good beer and a cheerful smile as always! Plenty of outside seating for those warm days - you'd be crazy to miss out!
Café Rojo is located just a few doors up in Irish Town and run by the lovely Annette & Luis (the chef!). The menu changes regularly, which is often a shame if your favourite disappears! Great food, great service, and just perfect for a business lunch, intimate dinner for 2 or a celebration with family & friends. Excellent wine list too.
