A delightful surprise in exploring the back streets of Barcelona - not easy to find, and not massive inside, but if you are interested in Jewish History, and can find the Major Synagogue of Barcelona, you can get an insight into the history from over 600 years ago.

Some guide books mention this using the name Synagogue Shlomo Ben Adret, and it is the last reminder of what was once a thriving community.

A €2 donation is all they ask on entry, and an enlightening presentation by the guide paints the picture of life as it was, and the varied history of the building since that time.

The Call Association of Barclona has only been going for 13 years, and have a mammoth task to recover what has been hidden away for so long.

Good luck to the association, and if this is your cup of tea, make sure you include it in any visit to Barcelona.

This is the website for the association that takes care of the Synagogue where you can find more information: Associació Call de Barcelona
