The Paseo Maritimo near downtown Marbella starts at Avenida del Mar and passes where the Melia Don Pepe Hotel is. It passes Avenida del Duque de Ahumada and passes Avenida Maria de Salamanca. The distance is about 2 km long. In this área the walkway is paved with marble. However the Paseo Maritimo is now connected to Puerto Banus, a distance of about 17 km, and the city is planning to connect all 27 km of the coastline of Marbella.
There are about 40 restaurants or more along this stretch of the Paseo Maritimo. There are many stores and places selling ice cream. One can look at the beach and see places where someone has built a figure in the sand. Many palm trees line this very attractive walkway.
The views of the sea are wonderful, especially during sunset time. One can walk beside the sea in a very attractive walkway. There is a tourist office nearby on the Paseo Maritimo where one can get tourist material and maps.
