Brandenburger Strasse

Brandenburger Strasse is the backbone of Potsdam's city center and a pedestrian area between St. Peter and Paul Church on Bassinplatz on one end and Potsdam's Brandenburg Gate and Luisenplatz on the other. There, at the gate you will also find a Potsdam Tourist Information and buses X15 and 695 to Sanssouci Palace (and New Palace for bus 695) leave here as well.

Brandenburger Strasse and the neighboring area such as the Dutch Quater is full of small businesses, including cafes where you could have a drink, cake or some cookies. You will also find a Karstadt department store and several restaurants here.

Gutenberg Strasse

If you already are in Brandenburger Strasse, why not head around the corner and visit Gutenberg Strasse as well. It runs parallel to the north and is the southern border of the Dutch Quater as well. Gutenbergstrasse is less touristic with lots of little shops and special cafes to discover.
