Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a perfect place for family vacations. A smaller town, it provides more peace than say, a large city like nearby Munich. It is very easy to get around; families can easily walk around the charming cobblestone streets stress-free. The cuisine here is also family-friendly--Bavarian cuisine has a lot of food that the fussiest toddlers will even enjoy such as potatoes, pastas, hamburgers and hotdogs or weinerschintzel, correctly speaking.
The area is loaded with activities to do aside from the famed skiing in winter and hiking and mountain biking of summer. There is a miniature golf course that kids love which also includes kid rides, a carrousel, a trampoline, electro cars and more.
Of course, if your family is old enough to engage in mountain biking that is definetely a possibility, but more laid back novice bike rides are also an option. Summer toboggan rides, horseback -riding, and city swimming pools can bide provide even more family-fun.
A horse-drawn carriage, wagon rides, and sleigh rides are also a great activity for families. They run from Skistadion to
Parnach Gorge. Partnach Gorge, being another great destination for all to visit and be inspired by more of the region's natural beauty.
