Drogheda is a Great Town to visit, over 800 years old and steeped in history. It's one of the best shopping towns in the north east of Ireland with a wide variety of shops. Not only is it a picturesque town, but it has a vast variety of historical sites, Millmount known to the Drogheda people as "the cup and saucer" for obvious reasons and it is the best place to start and you will see for miles into Louth,Meath and even Co.Down- what a view. For the kids there is a swimming pool, playground area and about 20 mins drive to a couple of great beaches and of course Funtasia in Bettystown is a must for young kids - rides, bumper cars, games and it is all indoors. The night life is second to none and for the gentry we have some of the best restaurants around Monasterboice Inn, (doneagans), Glenside, Redz, and for Chinese food The Ming Garden on Trinity Street. Of course the people are really friendly. There is also McDonalds and KFC.
In recent months Drogheda also has the Thai Pink elephant and for tasty bistro style food BRU by the river is excellent it also has a funky bar upstairs with great cocktails and world beers.
