Access to Limerick is easy, particularly with more recent developments such as the Shannon Tunnel, the M7 and new train services including the Limerick to Galway line. 

By Air

    Access to Limerick by air is best done via Shannon International Airport ( SNN ), located about half an hour west of Limerick. Major airlines with services to Shannon include Aer Lingus, Aer Arann, Continental, Delta and Ryanair. There are frequent services available to the United States, the UK and Europe. There is a good bus service with Bus Eireann and JJ Kavanagh, that links Shannon Airport to Limerick. Otherwise you can take a taxi or rent a car.

By Train and Bus

    Limerick (Colbert Station) train station is centrally-located and also serves as Limericks main bus station. Train and bus services between Limerick and other major Irish cities is convenient and frequent. It is now also possible to travel to Galway by train.  Limerick Railway Station is located on Parnell Street in the City centre.

By Car

    Limerick is convenient to many major Irish highways. The M7 runs east to Dublin, which takes just over 2 hours. Limerick is roughly the same distance to Galway and Cork cities with driving time approximately an hour and a half to Cork and a little less to Galway .
