Glasgow weather is typical of Scottish weather – which basically means a rainstorm can occur at any time. How else to explain the lush, greenery that covers the countryside? Winters are cold, but don't begin till late October. Summers are warm and begin in mid-June. There’s a chance for rain pretty much year-round. That being said, the best time to visit is generally in the summer when the temperature rises and you’re less likely to experience a sudden bout of rain showers. Not only is the weather nicer during the summer months, but also many of the tourist attractions have extended hours during this period.

If you don’t mind a bit of wet weather, however, spring can also be a good time to cross the pond and take in the sights and sounds of Glasgow. You can take advantage of off-season fares and have a better chance at scoring a room on one of the many area hotels that frequently sell out during the summer period. When in doubt, just pack an umbrella or a rain jacket, as it’s better to have one handy in case the heavens open and the rains fall down.

If you enjoy winter sports or have never seen snow before, then the best chance to come over would be between November and March. Although no one can ever be 100% sure when there will be snow, the mountains are usually covered during this period.  Hope to see you soon!
