VisitScotland is Scotland's national tourist organisation and their official site, www.visitscotland.com is a great source of information for everyone planning a break in Edinburgh or anywhere else in Scotland. You'll discover all the great things to do, places to go and what's on in Scotland while you're there. You can book accommodation online or call/email (0845 2255121/ email@example.com) the VisitScotland contact centre with your itinerary and they'll arrange everything for you.
VisitScotland also have a dedicated website for Edinburgh. It's packed with visitor info about the capital and allows you to download a map of the city or a podcast in advance of your trip. Another excellent feature available on the site is the Edinburgh Pass. Buy an Edinburgh Pass for 1 day (STG26), 2 days (STG34) or 3 days (STG40) and get entry to 27 top attractions, a 90-page guide book and unlimited bus travel within the city and a return airport transfer.
The main Edinburgh Visitor Information Centre
is above the Princes Mall at the east end of Princes Street, close to Waverley train station. There is also a Visitor Information Centre
at Edinburgh Airport, open 6.30am-10pm daily, April
through October and 7.30am-9.30pm daily, November through March.
