Bath Film Festival

late November - early December

The acclaimed Sounds to Silents projects are a potent mix of silent film plus specially-composed live music - the festival has worked with Will Gregory of Goldfrapp, jazz saxophonist Andy Sheppard, and pop-art performers The Real Tuesday Weld amongst others.

The festival also runs film-making and animation workshops for adults and young people to foster South West film-making talent and with schools and universities to foster an appreciation of film culture for the future.

Full festival information can be found here.

Bath International Music Festival

The Festival features fantastic concerts happening all over the city (and in the outlying villages too).  The event in the Bath Calendar year is Party in the City on Friday 22 May, when venues, shops and restaurants across the city host a variety of musical and theatrical entertainments all for FREE.  Another highlight for 09 is a new opera featuring pieces by Handel set actually on the Roman Baths, and promising battleships and fireworks! The rest of the programme features internationally acclaimed names from the worlds of classical, contemporary, jazz, world, and folk.

Bath Fringe Festival

A great Bath festival, especially good if you enjoy modern & world music, comedy, theatre, street events, contemporary visual arts, unusual things to do... It's run by Bath people (not 'experts' parachuted in), and happens in many of the more interesting places in the city that don't appear in the guidebooks.
