There are many shops in Blackpool and the most popular places to shop are the streets surrounding Houndshill Shopping Centre.

Houndshill is situated a short stroll from the central car park, but also has its own car park with quite reasonable charges.

The recently redeveloped Houndshill has many shops, including Debenhams, New Look, Next, Primark, Bank, River Island, La Senza, Clintons, Superdrug, Early Learning Centre, Game, Dorothy Perkins and Boots.  For those needing to rest their feet while shopping, there are plenty of coffee shops and eateries around the shopping including Starbucks, Costa and Le Petit Four Francais.  Further information on parking, stores and developments can be found at http://www.houndshillshoppingcentre.c...

In the streets surrounding the shopping centre (Bank Hey Street, Victoria Street and Church Street), you will find plenty of shops, such as Thorntons, HMV, Shoe Zone, WigWam, Savers, McDonalds and Argos. Travel a few minutes further north and you will find Ann Summers, BHS, Leonard Dews diamonds,, Marks and Spencer to name but a few.

For those wishing more local and independent shops and markets, head towards the east side of the town centre (Abingdon Street, Talbot Road, Topping Street, Birley Street and the newly opened St. John's Square).  St. John's Square is also home to visiting Continental markets and Christmas markets.

If you have a car, you can follow the prom northbound all the way to Fleetwood, where Freeport Shopping Outlet Village is situated. This is the US discount outlet style shopping park and has its own free car parking. Two of the big names there are Marks & Spencer and Next outlet stores. Further details can be found at

Of course, Blackpool is the ideal base for a Lancashire holiday. In under an hour you can travel to the Trafford Centre in Manchester, and shop in England's newest city, Preston. If you do not have a car, you will not need to miss out on shopping in Preston. Simply take a train from Blackpool North train station and Preston is only a few stops away. The journey will take between 20 and 30 minutes, and once out of Preston train station, the shopping centres are across the road with the Fishergate Centre that includes a Debenhams, TK Maxx and Primark!
