Sudeley Castle and Gardens are absolutely beautiful and have an unbelievable history. Katherine Parr is buried here in the church and there are loads of lovely gardens to walk round.
There are lots of weekend events on for families, such as jousting, vikings, etc and some great stuff for the rest of the family too, such as organic gardening and cooking demos and a farmers market. Check out the website for more info - www.sudeleycastle.co.uk
The Adventure Playground is closed at the moment but a new installation of swings from around the world is going in later this month. There is also an annual Contemporary Art exhibition with some fascinating and huge pieces around the grounds.
This year they've added a new textiles exhibition too, which has some really historical pieces and lots of different examples of types of embroidery, etc.
You can also stay in the country cottages on the estate - perfect for walking into Winchcombe which has lovely shops and restaurants.
Highly recommend as a great family day out and ideal base for exploring the Cotswolds.
