Once summer is in the air, the sightseeing buses show up back on the streets around Ottawa and the National Capital Region.

Here then is a list of the tours available for the 2009 season:

 

Gray Line

Gray Line is a division of Greyhound Canada and operates sightseeing tours in many Canadian and American cities.

Discover the Capital Tour - Confederation Square (Sparks Street & Elgin). Bus tours run from April 26th to October 12th, 2009. Tours are aboard authentic London-style double decker buses, turn of the century trolleys, or first-class air conditioned washroom-equipped motorcoaches. Tours run daily from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM (off season) and to 4:00 PM (during peak season), and one can hop-on-hop-off at any of the many stops located throughout the National Capital Region. Duration of the tour is 2 hours, but the hop-on hop-off feature allows one to discover the “circuit” at their own pace… ticket is valid for 3 consecutive days.

Grand City Tour – Confederation Square (Sparks Street & Elgin). Bus Tours run from July 2nd to September 6th. Duration of the tour is 1 hour.

Discover the Capital Bus Tour & Cruise – Confederation Square (Sparks Street & Elgin). Tours run from mid-May (Victoria Day) thru to mid-October (Thanksgiving Weekend).

This combined ticket allows one to choose to add either a Rideau Canal Tour or an Ottawa River Cruise on Paul's Boat Lines to the Discover the Capital Bus Tour. More info on the Cruise portion can be found in the OTTAWA FORUM Topic “Ottawa Sightseeing Cruises 2009”.

 

Lady Dive 

Lady Dive is a company out of St-Isidore, Ontario and has been operating sightseeing tours in Ottawa for many years.

Double Decker or Trolley Tour – Confederation Square (Sparks Street & Elgin). Bus tours run from April 15th to October 31st, 2009 (into November if weather permits). Tours are aboard an authentic London-style double decker buses (either open or closed top) and historic trolleys. Tours run daily (on the hour) from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The tour can either be done in a continuous loop or in a hop-on hop-off as it makes it way thru the many stops located throughout the National Capital Region. There is a surcharge for the hop-on hop-off option. Duration of the tour is 2 hours, but the hop-on hop-off feature allows one to discover the “circuit” at their own pace. Tickets available for 1, 2 or 3 days.

Amphibus Tours – Confederation Square (Sparks Street & Elgin). Tours run from May 1st to October 31, 2009. Tours are aboard one of two amphibuses (Lady Dive or Lady Dive II). Tours run daily from 10:30 AM. Duration of the tour is 1 hour.

Combo Tour – Confederation Square (Sparks Street & Elgin). Tours run from May 1st to October 31, 2009. Travellers can enjoy the 1 Hour Amphibus Tour and then the hop-on hop-off  double decker or trolley tour, enjoying the “circuit” (2 hours) at their own pace. Tickets are available for 1 or 3 days.

Colossal Night Tour – Confederation Square (Sparks Street & Elgin). Tours run from June 21st to Monday, September 7, 2009 (Labour Day). A non-stop 1 hour tour of the city sights at night.

High in Colour Tour of Gatineau Park – Confederation Square (Sparks Street & Elgin). Tours run Weekends from September 15th to October 12th, 2009 (Thanksgiving). This is a 4 hour tour of Gatineau Park. Tours begin at 10:30 AM.
