The weather in Copper Canyon is fairly warm throughout the year.  However, because of certain factors, some months are more comfortable to visit during than others.

On average, the warmest months of the year are July and August, during which time the daytime high temperatures will generally hover around the upper 80’s and lower 90’s.  The nighttime temperatures during these months will drop to the 70’s.  From April to September, the canyons are not only hot, but they also are very humid and attract loads of unpleasant mosquitoes.  It is not recommended to walk through the canyon during this time of the year.

On average, the coldest months of the year are January and February, during which time the daily high temperatures will reach the 70’s.  The season from September through April is an ideal time to go to the Copper Canyon, as the temperatures drop to the comfortable range, the humidity has gone down, and the mosquitoes are not around (this is huge).

The rainy season in the Copper Canyon is from June through September.   During this time everything in the canyon is green and lush, and if hikers don’t mind a bit of rain, this is an ideal time to visit.
