There are many events and festivals that are held all along the Pacific Coast in Mexico.  However, our focus will be on those held in the major tourist destinations of Mazatlan, Nuevo Vallarta, Puerto Vallarta, and Acapulco.

            The largest and most elaborate festival in all of Mazatlan is the Mazatlan Carnival .  For over 100 years, hundreds of thousands of people have been coming to this festival that is the third largest of its kind in the world.  It is held every year during a week in late January or early February.  For more information about festivals and events, check out the Trip Advisor Mazatlan page.

            There are lots of events and festivals held in Acapulco as well.  On in particular that suits the up-beat atmosphere of the city is called the Acafest.              Ixtapa - Zihuatanejo has hosted the annual Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival for several years, featuring a full week of guitar music in concerts, dinner shows and bar shows around town. Dates change yearly, but it's always in the spring, usually before Easter. A percentage of the proceeds benefits local music and cultural education in the community.
