Rent some wheels

Although you can get just about everywhere you need to go by walking, you may enjoy renting some wheels to explore the city.
Chavo's Sport Rentals, located on Blvd Costero (Lazaro Cardenas) & Castillo (Near the giant flag pole) has scooters, ATV's, and fancy looking golf cart type of vehicles. See the Inside Ensenada topic, Taxis and Rental Cars for information about local rentals as well as rentals in San Diego for use in Mexico.

Driving Around Ensenada

If you plan to drive around the city, you should be aware of the following:

  1. Other than the tourist zone and main avenues, many streets do not have signs.
  2. Some streets do not have bridges over the river. Normally this is not a problem, but if you happen to be visiting during the rainy season there will be water in the river and some streets may flood.

As you drive into Ensenada after the last toll the road will split left, which zig zags through town (take this if you are continuing south), and right to go to the tourist zone. Here is a link to a printable street map.
