Outdoor dining is a wonderful choice in the Caribbean; Nevis is no exception and the cuisine is second to none.  On Nevis, unlike many other places in the West Indies and the tropics in general, mosquitos are not usually much of a problem.  The breezes and late night showers also make everything cool and fresh, and there are some lovely garden spots.

Where to go?  Hotels that offer outside dining with beautiful vistas from decks, patios or terraces include just about every hotel on Nevis: Four Seasons, Golden Rock, Hermitage Hotel, Montpelier, Mount Nevis, Nisbet Plantation, Old Manor, and  Oualie.  Each one has its own different appeal, and all are good for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

You can also try ordering a picnic lunch from your hotel and then hike to eat your sandwiches up in the rain forest, or out on one of Nevis' more secluded beaches.  But please do remember to take your litter away afterwards; Nevis residents are proud of their beautiful green island, and try as best as they can to prevent litter from being a problem.

There is also on-the-beach dining with music that lasts into the night, at Chevy's and Sunshine's.
