There are no alligators in Jamaica, only crocodiles. The name Alligator Pond was given because if taken by an aerial photo, the river shapes like an alligator. Alligator Pond is actually located in Manchester and not St. Elizabeth. It was in St.Elizabeth when there were 23 parishes. It separates the two parishes of St. Elizabeth and Manchester.
