As you head south from town along the single road that follows the coast around the southern tip of the island, you'll see Pink Beach just past the impressive salt works. Here you'll find huts that slaves once used to sleep in when working in the salt trade. There is also an orange obelisk. The obelisks were color coded by grade of salt so that the boats knew where to come to buy the particular grade of salt they wanted. Bring binoculars and look out for flamingos along your drive.
