If you're looking for an easy trail, try the Limberlost Trail near milepost 43, also near Skyland. It's a 1.3 mile loop. There are no overlooks here with views of mountains and valleys, it's just an easy walk through the woods, trail is very good, wide, well-marked. If you are a birder, this is a trail that gets a lot of attention for migrating warblers. There are lots of chestnut-sided warblers here in the Spring, almost guaranteed to spot one here. Lots of deer along the trail.
If you're looking for something a little more challenging, the Stony Man Trail is a bit longer at 1.6 miles. It ends at a rocky overlook, but the trail is fairly easy. It is a slow grade up, so coming down is very easy. That trail is accessible at Skyland. If you are going south, turn into the first Skyland entrance, make an immediate right into the parking lot and the trailhead is basically straight in front of you. Would recommend this if you are looking for views but not up for anything strenuous. Going in autumn is obviously a real treat.
