The Robert Ferguson Observatory provides 3 large telescopes for public obserivng, along with numerous smaller scopes. They have public observing once a month with many knowledgeable docents that give presentations on topics ranging from Saturn and its rings to galaxy superclusters and supermassive black holes. Visitors can see binary stars, planets and their moons, planetary nebulae, galaxies and other deep sky objects through the telecopes. The observatory is situated in Sugarloaf Ridge State Park which has many beautiful hiking trails of varying length and difficulty.
