Cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle 

 

The Cathedral is located at Plaza Catedral, s/n. The name of the Cathedral is the Cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle. The first church was constructed by Abad Oliba in 1038 in the historic center near the river. Today the only original parts that exist are the crypt and the bell tower with Romanesque architecture. The present church is Neoclassic and was built in the 18th century. The church has two apses. There is a Gothic cloister that was constructed in the 14th century and the church has an alabaster retable that was created by Pere Oller in the Gothic style. The Chapel dedicated to Sant Bernat Calbo has a Baroque style. The central nave has a mural decoration created by Josep M. Sert, and this has a great artistic value.
