England’s answer to the Mediterranean, with sand, sea, and sun galore
Come to Devon for its coastal resorts, but stay for its plunging seaside cliffs, surfable waves, and wildflower-covered trails. This county has much to see in both manmade and natural beauty, like the medieval Torre Abbey or the underground caves at Kents Cavern. Get lost in nature at Dartmoor National Park, or shop your heart out at the Newton Abbot shopping center. If you need to shake off some of those sea resort crowds, especially in high season, you can get truly remote at Lundy Island, a nature reserve that can only be reached by boat.
