Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Meal House at Tugford Farm Holiday cottages. Hidden away in the Shropshire countryside this accommodation enabled our extended family to enjoy an extended break in the peace and quiet of rural England.
Very nicely appointed large cottage which matches the description on the website. Very comprehensively equipped but I'm sure if you did need anything not available the efficient Bronwen would have it sorted in a jiffy. So well equipped in fact, that if you have friends staying elsewhere on the farm you are likely to be able to have them around to share meals at your large dining suite without being short of cutlery, crockery, glasses, and such.
Clean and tidy when we arrived and all the facilities functioned to a high standard.
There is lots to do in the area, interesting castles and stately homes etc. Country walks, all that you'd expect from a country break.
I shan't mention the fantastic sponge cake Bronwen brought around one afternoon teatime as everyone will expect one- but a gesture typical of the local welcome we received.
Tugford is a tiny village of some charm. If you fancy a few days in the country I couldn't recommend this destination more highly. If you can't fill a five bedroom cottage, the farm has a two bedroom cottage, and bed and breakfast accommodation also. The wifi works which is a triumph for a place this remote.
Great value for the standard of cottage provided.
Tip: The Tally Ho pub two miles away serves excellent real ale and satisfactory pubfood.
