It is a funny place for a restaurant, but inside is lovely: very large and tastefully decorated, nice high ceilings but still feels cozy. Dinner was excellent: we had the table d’hote. 2 had the octopus in sauce to start and raved about the tenderness of the baby octopus and the richness of the sauce. I had the panzarella salad which was a good size portion and very fresh.
My main was a tuna steak which was huge, and served on a bed of arugula. Very tender and well cooked. My dad had the daily special which was veal stuffed peppers: he ended up bringing one home, they were so large. The third in our party had the veal scallopini, which looked absolutely decadent with cheese and cream sauce. Again, too much for her to finish. All mains came with a side of mini potatoes, pepper and chard: the latter was flavourful but pretty hard to cut.
The place was hopping on a Saturday night. We found out at the end of our meal that they were short 2 staff. We weren’t in a rush so didn’t mind that we waited a little longer for dishes to be cleared.
