We stayed here in January for a Family Event. We had a king bed with a Jacuzzi. It was a gorgeous, romantic room with a balcony (be sure to ask for a balcony room if you are a smoker as all rooms are non-smoking). It had a mini fridge to store beverages. The staff were very attentive and the one gentleman allowed us to use the downstairs breakfast area to gather our group for take in Chinese food so that we were all together. Of course, we made sure we left it just as it was when we started - perfect! The breakfast was lovely - juices, hot coffee, toast, bagels, cereal or muffins.
The hotel did not seem very busy at all. It is on a quiet stretch by the highway but is still close to a small little café two mins up the street or to a few restaurants a few more mins up the road. I definitely would stay here again.

Room Tip: If you need a balcony be sure to ask for it as only a few rooms have them.

A number of us were in Rockland for a birthday party. The rooms are quite modern & very clean. There are absolutely no complaints whatsoever about the service we received. They went out of their way to make each of us feel at home. My cousin & her husband rented a King suite with large whirlpool tub. Very nice. The washroom with its sliding doors offers a cozy, even sexy, spa like atmosphere. I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Rockland. Heck, if your destination is downtown Ottawa, stay here where it is nice & quite & drive to Ottawa in the morning. You won't regret it.

Room Tip: If you are not traveling like I am, try the king bedroom with large whirlpool.

I am usually an over-planner and read hotel reviews before choosing a place for the night. In this case we were to leave at 5 am from Haliburton, Ont to drive to a funeral in Lachute, Qc at 2pm. During the evening before we received a call saying that a big storm was headed for the Ottawa, Montreal area with 30+ cm (12 inches) expected. After consulting weather.com and a few other sites we knew the only hope was to hightail it out of there and do the majority of the trip before the storm hit.

Around 2 AM we tried to find a room in Napean, Ontario and stopped at a Quality Inn that wanted $147.00 with no breakfast. We found that expensive and kept driving. Arriving in Rockland at 2h30 AM we saw the sign for the River Rock Inn and stopped. There were only a couple of cars in the parking lot but we didn't let that discourage us. I was so happy when the night clerk offered us a room at $99.00 breakfast included. He was welcoming and friendly, explaining breakfast hours and checkout times. We had driven over 4 hours on dry asphalt and were wondering where the storm was.

The room was large enough for my family with 2 adults and 2 teens. Beds were clean and very comfortable. The room looked the same as the one posted on this site but with 2 beds. TV worked well. We did not hear traffic although we were on the road side but at that hour traffic was minimal. We all preferred the walk in shower to the in tub kind.

I awoke around 8h30 to the familiar beep beep and scraping sound of a snow clearing machine. Jumped up to look out and sure enough there was already close to a foot of snow on the ground.

My family continued to sleep so I headed to the breakfast room and enjoyed the free wireless, the big flat screen TV and the comfortable seating while sipping on numerous cups of coffee. Both the lobby and the breakfast area were well appointed and inviting. Once the family was all up, we enjoyed the included breakfast of fruit, yogurt, toast, bagels, muffins, cereal, juice and coffee. The breakfast was well laid out and there were many tables to eat at.

As I have no business to be in this area again we likely won't stay again, however if you need a hotel in this area you can be assured this place will fit the bill.

Stayed here with hockey team, looked like only hotel in area. Nice, only 4 yrs old. Our room was large, with microwave and frig, walk in shower only. Elegant furnishinings, free breakfast with wait staff cleaning alot. Nice inn feel, lots of sitting spaces. Event there Sat night, so not much parking. Staff needs to block off larger area for hotel guests. No pool, but hot tub

Room Tip: ask for 2 queens with micro/frig

We recently spent one week at the River Rock Inn. The room was clean, beds were comfortable, the staff were helpful. The breakfast was average but the hotel was located close to a number of restaurants. The hotel is new and the room furnishings were modern. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

The hotel is nice, rooms are new and clean, people are ok, but found it bit pricy.

Room Tip: if you smoke you could get a room on the ground floor or wit a balcony. Not too bad Breakfast

We have stayed at the River Rock Inn during our final preparation for our move from Rockland to Kingston. We were looking forward to try the only hotel in Rockland as we really dislike the drive to Ottawa on a daily basis when we originally moved here in 2008.

Pros:
- Rooms are spacious and well appointed.
- Free continental breakfast
- Beautiful lobby
- Accept pet at $10/extra/night
- Friendly staff

Cons:
- Do not accept American Express (main credit card for federal government employee) or Interac
- Spotty WIFI for the first two days we were there. Seems resolved on our last day

Overall, a very pleasant stay. With minor tweaking this hotel could easily get "excellent" rating
