Stayed at Les Victorines on a MAP plan in September 2011.
We were three couples ( all brothers and sisters in law )
We lucked out with beautiful weather, the view of the Lake is breath taking .We were greeted at the reception by one of the owners Marie Claude who was friendly and professionnal
Marie Claude discounted one of the rooms from the price that been quoted upon reserving, had she not we would have paid the extra, without realising the extra charge, her attention to detail was very much appreciated. The meals (breakfast and dinner)were included in the fare and all were truly gastronomic and served by friendly staff whose good services we appreciated.

I've been to this Hotel everytime I'm in town. I really like it. The Hotel is located just aside of the lake and is really nice relax on the garden sitting in front of the lake. The rooms are not so big, but clean and really confortables. I always really appreciatedj the food prepared in the inside restaurant. The owner is a unique character. I personally haven't had any issue with him and I found him funny and nice at the same time. I'll continue to go to their Hotel when in town.

Nicely located, 10-year old Victorian style B&B with a disappointing cuisine. The Beaujolais was served at fridge temperature, the appetizer was a terrine of lamb and cranberry that you could have bought at the local supermarket, the braised veal was not braised at all! I got 2 slices of yesterday's veal roast in a brown steak sauce, served with nice braised vegetables and potatoes. Desert anyone? A chocolate mousse that was as hard as a dark chocolate bar. 78$ later with tip, I thought I had been had. And the view of the lake is obstructed by numerous mature pine trees.

Being an Anglo with high school French may not have helped - but even though the client we were meeting there was a francophone from the Eastern Townships himself they still weren't very welcoming.
Arrived in a spring blizzard & the very steep driveway down to the B & B on the lake hadn't been plowed so getting down there was interesting
Pretty place - much restored Victorian B & B - and its on Lac Megantic itself so it must be lovely in summer.
But the owners & particularly the gentleman who manages the restaurant have a strangely condescending attitude - almost as though you're there to be instructed about the food & told what to eat. Dinner was certainly very good - if overpriced - & he had some execllent local cheeses, but its not 5 star Michelin so not sure why he thinks its so superior. Got terribly upset when I asked for sweetener instead of sugar with my coffee & informed me they refused to allow it in the house [fortunately I had some in my purse]
Comfortable beds, very pretty rooms - with a different attitude would be delightful.
And next morning they still hadn't plowed their driveway so getting out was even more interesting...

I am Swiss, traveled extensively but never had such a rude and unwelcoming experience as at the Victorines. My French Canadian friends felt ashamed by very condescending attitude of the staff.
We had to pay for breakfast even though the website says it's included in price. They served us two orders of 'Eggs Benedickt' on ONE plate!!!!
If my friends would not have such a great sense of humor, this would be one of the worse travel experiences in my life.

We have just got back from a weekend at Les Victorines located on Lac Megantic, this is a beautiful region if you like nature. The hotel is well located pulled back from the road directly on the lake. It is charming and romantic and very very quiet. The rooms are beautifully decorated, very clean but a little small. We had booked a package which included a massage supper and breakfast and the overnight stay. The massage was okay, and temperature wise we where most fortunate to be able to eat outside with virtually no mosquitoes, the food was great but the service was a little disorganized. At night this is one of the best areas to do some star gazing. This is a beautiful area to be explored.
