What a super place! The volunteers at the sanctuary care for seals rescued off the shores of Ireland; they're brought from as far away as Sligo and Donegal, rehabilitated until they're in good, healthy condition, then returned to the exact place that they were discovered. This is the only seal sanctuary in Ireland.
All the volunteers were friendly and welcoming and happy to answer any questions. We watched them feed the seals, and then we went for a walk along the board walk: gorgeous views of the Peninsula from the walk!
The children enjoyed feeding the ducks and kids, and then we hired a pedalo and had fun on the water. There's also a small playground for younger children on site.
Inspirational for those interested in animal welfare and good family entertainment.
