Loved the Borovica for a few days relaxing in the High Tetras. The hotel has a feel of old fashioned "faded glory"...but is absolutely up-to-date having been fully refurbished in last few years. Especially loved the vast amount of wood fittings in contrast to today's metal/steel hotels. Excellent sauna complex, lovely/attentive staff and top quality bathrooms. Recommend.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants some rest in beautiful High Tatras.
We did our 3 day stay one week before Christmas. (The weather was just wonderful!)
You will meet here with only nice people - reception, restaurant, spa ...
The interior blends beautifully into the environment where the hotel is located.
The rooms are very nicely decorated and cleanliness is 100 %.
The cuisine is absolutely awesome! We've had delicious dinners and hot/cold buffet for breakfast. You can also choose from wide range of wines.
Wellness was the main reason we chose this hotel and really did not disappoint. You will find all the must-haves a decent spa should be equipped with - swimming pool, various saunas, jaccuzzi, tepidarium, massage and various treatments... And plus we've had always refreshing water with lemon in the sauna world entrance .
If you are going to ski, they offer free pick-up service 5 times a day directly to the ski-lift .
To summarize, I have absolutely no cons. And we are looking forward to our next year visit in the Tatras, and we already know that once again will stay in Borovica!

I was the first, who made review on this hotel couple years ago. One of the top was the restaurant. But as the years went by, from kitchen became the Kitchen nightmare. I was overthere two times and the meals were awful.
But this year I gave this restaurant a chance, because they have new "star" chef, who has been working with Heston Blumenthal in Fat Duck restaurant.
I do not know, but I am loosing the illusion about Heston. My soup was warming in microwave oven, as well as potatoes. The shame is, that kitchen is visible from restaurant, so you can see, how they prepair and mostly warm the dishes with microwave. And if you are not fully persuede, the oven is permanently ringing. I know, Heston is using very special techniques, maybe this microwave oven is one of them.
And at the end, probably the highlight of the menu. Frozen vegetables (steamed). In the middle of the season!!!!
So, Borovica and head chef Michalko, keep making PR, or throw out the microwave, frozen food and start COOKING!!!!!

Really nice hotel, with luxury wellness, nice pool, great service, only 10 min. walk from Strbske pleso. Hotel has its own parking. Rooms are modern, tune into dark color, nice bathroom, fully equipped. We had halfboard, food is tasty and pretty arranged. After outdoor activities you can relax in big whirpool or saunas. The stay here is little expensive, but you are in High Tatras... :)

High quality dining (breakfast buffet & a la carte dinner). Spacious spa (pool part with large swimming pool & jacuzzi and sauna part with 5 saunas & wonderful relax room, however not with apropriete view- one would expect neat garden or forrest).
Close surrounding of the hotel is not very photogenic - with some industrial building & devastated forrest. I believe hotel staff could work on this a bit.

All in one - we had an excellent holiday here. Just wouldn't recommend massage services - lower average.
