My wife & I visited the cellar door recently. We were a little earlier than the 10.30am opening time & the service lady who was ever so pleasant asked if we were there to see the plane or wine tasting. When we queried what plane was she talking about, she pointed out the Tiger Moth housed in an open shed approximately 50 metres from the cellar door. Wow, this old plane certainly had some history flying from England to Perth in 1990. The complete trip had no inflight entertainment & a top speed of only 107mph. The red wine varieties we sampled were excellent and very reasonably priced. So yes, we did leave with a few bottles to treat ourselves at a later date.

So stop…and don’t drive past like we have done in all the other trips we have taken to this wonderful wine region of Wilyabrup.

“Do Not Miss”
Reviewed March 15, 2014

Having been recommended here this was truly a great experience. We were greeted by a smiling friendly lady who was very quick to pick up on my interest in the family aircraft photos on the walls.
We were offered some background on the wines and family history as I was finding it hard to take my eyes off the Tiger Moth in the shed. This truly was my utopia, wine, aircraft and friendly staff :)
There were a small selection of wines that we found refreshing and easy drinking.
The family history and the story behind the Tiger Moth flight was intriguing and I could have discussed it for hours however we found our place on the extremely comfortable bean bags outside overlooking the vineyard.
Thoroughly enjoyable do not miss visiting this winery.

“Bad Experience”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

lovely wines but extremely disappointing hospitality. our host was quite anxious and insistent upon our arrival that we should stand at the corner of the tasting bar, for there was a tour group arriving shortly. this is despite there being no-one at the cellar door at the time. we felt very uncomfortable because of this and therefore only stayed a short period. this was unfortunate as the white varietals were quite lovely and we would have purchased a bottle otherwise.

“Another surprise in Margaret River”
Reviewed May 9, 2013

This was our last cellar door on a 5 day stay in Marg River. This is a small boutique but the wines exceptional, both whites and reds. The owner was very knowledge and we enjoyed his relaxed style. There is also an interesting family history. Worth the stop.
