This is the perfect venue to celebrate a special occasion; friendly and attentive staff, glorious views of the vines, countryside and blue sea, a stunning building and last but not least superlative wine & food. Masterchef NZ used Elephant Hill last series as a filming location, which is a good indicator of the high class this venue oozes. Can't wait for my next visit!

A beautiful warm HB autumn day, great friends and out of town visitors - what better place to celebrate the day ,as it turned out, than Elephant Hill Winery Restaurant on the coast overlooking the Pacific Ocean, such a stylie setting in a rural landscape. The lunch was started on a sunny terrace looking out to Cape Kidnappers and as it cooled off it was no trouble for us to move into the elegant european styled inside and then coffee in the sunken, private lounge - all of these moves facilitated in a friendly, no effort way.
The food was very good and dietary challenges were readily accommodated - my yellow fin tuna was perfect and the other selections around the table were all pronounced to be great. The serving sizes were plenty and the tastes fresh and sharp. The menu is generous but not overwhelming with a good range to cover every taste demand.
Thanks for making this a special occasion and living up to your well earned reputation as a destination of relaxed style.

Had a fun bike ride to the restaurant and had a great meal with great views. If I could fault one thing it was the delay in getting the entree then main meals served but when you have food this good it pails into insignificance.

I went here with my family for Good Friday lunch, as always the place was busy, staff friendly and food great.
We opted to go for mains and desserts and just share everything between the 8 of us.
However as 6 of us ordered the slow cooed pork belly there was no point in sharing. The pork belly was by far the best one I've had in New Zealand any everybody commented on how good it was.
For desserts we shared each one off the menu, baked Alaska, chocolate terrine, coconut moose.
All were fresh and fantastic.
Elephant hill exceeds all expectations of a winery restaurant and is one of mine and my family's favourite places to eat.
Over all a great dinning experience will defiantly be ack soon.

We eat out a lot - probably too much and we've dined in some wonderful restaurants across NZ and abroad. When we popped in for a impromptu lunch at Elephant Hill, we were not expecting such an amazing experience. Food is divine, wine matches perfect, service is unpretentious and professional and the location charming even in the rain. But the food was standout - we may have eaten better but we can't remember it if so!
